Was ist ein Interessenkonflikt?
Der internationalen Diskussion und auch der Diskussion in Deutschland liegt zumneist eine Definition zugrunde, die der amerikanische Sozialwissenschaftler Derek Thompson 1993 in einem Beitrag im New England Journal of Medicine veröffentlich hat. Das Institute of Medicine hat die Definition leicht modifiziert übernommen:

Visits from pharmaceutical representatives regarding gabapentin "detailing" were frequently followed by physician intentions to increase their future activity with the drug.
